Current Projects for Cambodia

•    Bicycle for Students ($50 each): Give the gift of possibility. Help children in rural villages get to school. By purchasing something as simple as a bicycle, you open up an opportunity for a child to receive an education. Children in remote villages of Cambodia must commute long distances to school (sometimes 12 km one way) without a bicycle, which makes school attendance almost impossible. With your donation, not only will the child benefiting from your donation be able to attend public school, but he or she will be able to attend the Trivani/Sustainable Cambodia after-school program as well.

•    School Construction ($4,000):   The Trivani Foundation has donated funds for the construction of a primary school in Veal, a rural village in Cambodia. This school will provide access to education for children who are currently communting 12 km one way in order to learn. Parents will no longer have to pull their children out of school in order to save them from such an arduous journey on a bicycle. The Veal Primary School will be located in the village itself, so it will free up several hours a day for students to study, play, and help their families earn a living.

•    Digitize Literacy Materials ($5,000):   Help to disseminate quality literacy materials by digitizing existing manuals and resources. Digitized materials will be uploaded to the web as open content, for use in building content for community centers and for other literacy and development initiatives in rural, poor communities. These manuals advance access by rural poor and lower-literate people to information that helps to improve health, human rights, environmental conservation, conflict resolution, education and empowerment. Pilot projects with the digitized information will take place in Cambodia and Nepal.

The Trivani Foundation Is Now an Official 501(c)(3) Organization!

On October 29, 2007, the Trivani Foundation received exciting news: we are officially a 501(c)(3) organization! Now all donations given by contributors will be tax deductible, so this is great news for you as well. It typically takes organizations years to gain 501(c)(3) status, but we received ours in a matter of months. What can we say...the stars are truly aligned for the Trivani Foundation and our cause.
