Friday Morning and Afternoon: A Tale of Two Cities
Friday was the perfect kickoff for the Trivani Leadership Summit, which was held on June 13 and 14 at the brand new Newpark Hotel in Park City, Utah. Distributors who arrived in Utah early traveled down to Trivani’s new headquarters in Springville, UT, and enjoyed a tour of the newly remodeled Reynold’s building. Those who were more content to relax on their brief “vacation” settled into their hotel room and enjoyed the Park City experience until the festivities began.
Friday Evening: Purpose and Recognition
At the official start of the Leadership Summit, the Trivani Team began the evening with a fabulous dinner prepared by hotel staff, after which Bob Steed, Trivani CEO, jumped on stage to begin the evening’s Purpose presentations. After Bob’s introduction, Megan McMillan, VP of the Trivani Foundation, spoke on the Foundation’s progress since pre-launch and the many projects we have been involved in thus far. She presented hard numbers on the issues that many developing countries face and explained how we are helping to improve conditions for those who are suffering. After Megan, Kent Norton, founder and president of Starfish Television Network, discussed the role Starfish has played in helping the Trivani Foundation to achieve its success.
After the Purpose segment of the evening, Shane McClellan, Trivani VP of Global Sales and Marketing, introduced a $100 Bonus campaign for June and July to help distributors reach the requirements for the Trivani Adventure challenge. Shane then unveiled Roatan as the location of the Trivani Adventure trip—a retreat that will go down in history as the first distributor-based Trivani Child Rescue Mission. The mission will take place in September.
After Shane’s remarks, Lourdes Paepke, Trivani Director of Marketing, presented the many distributors who have reached a rank over the past few months. Rank advancers enjoyed their moment in the spotlight as they walked on stage to receive their recognition pin from a long line of Trivani executives.
The evening ended on quite a musical note, with a group lesson on salsa dancing. Everyone had a blast practicing their salsa moves and mingling with fellow Trivani Team members. When people finally retired to their rooms, it was well past midnight.
Saturday morning: Health
Saturday morning, everyone was up once again and ready for a great day full of Trivani. The morning began with a light breakfast in the hotel’s dining area, after which distributors had a chance to peruse the items in the Trivani store.
Soon after breakfast, the Trivani Team was ushered into the conference room to begin the day’s events. Bob Steed started the day off by bringing Gene Guarino, a leading Trivani Guardian, on stage to present his inspired idea: placing an image of a Trivani sponsored child on your luggage tags, credit cards, and more. Everyone at the event received a luggage tag with Trivani’s cover child: the little Kenyan child posing with her arms above her head and a big smile on her face.
After Gene’s presentation, the audience listened intently to one of the most anticipated presenters of the Summit: Dr. Devra Davis, expert on environmental oncology. Dr. Davis gave a phenomenal presentation on the negative impact certain chemicals can have on our bodies and on the environment. She stressed the importance of becoming informed on what is safe to use and what is not and commended Trivani on our efforts to create safe and effective products. All in all, Dr. Davis’s presentation may have scared her audience a bit, but she definitely left a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the Trivani Do No Harm Philosophy™ and for Trivani’s incredible products.
After Devra Davis, Carlos and Shirley Martinez, leading Trivani Guardians, took the podium and shared their Trivani story with the Trivani Team and stressed the importance of Trivani’s three missions. Dan Miser, Trivani Chief Science Officer, and Shane McClellan then got up and, together, introduced the two new Trivani products, Suvan™ and InstaLast™. Shane discussed the simple benefits of the two products, and Dan followed up with scientific evidence of those benefits. Shane and Dan then took a few minutes to tackle a few pointed questions from the audience.
Immediately after the Health segment of the day, distributors and employees enjoyed a live presentation of the ribbon cutting ceremony—the event marking the inauguration of Trivani’s new headquarters in Springville. Distributors then took a break for lunch—and a frenzy of distributors moved their way to the Trivani store to sample Trivani’s Suvan on ice.
Saturday Afternoon: Humanitarian Circles and Business Tools
Refreshed once more and excited for the final segment of Trivani’s Summit, the Trivani Team settled back into their seats to watch the new Humanitarian Circle program DVD. The DVD presents a Humanitarian Circle as if someone were hosting it right there in the room, which gave distributors a glimpse of the fun they could have when they host their own Humanitarian Circle.
After the DVD, Shane McClellan took the stage to introduce the Tarahumara Indians: the group Trivani has chosen to aid in the Humanitarian Circle meetings. He then introduced Humanitarian Circles specialists Carly Johnston and Laurie Vukich, who addressed the basics of the Humanitarian Circle program, including how distributors can get involved, how it can help their business, and what prizes they can expect to receive at each meeting. Laurie then brought Tiffany Correa, a Trivani Guardian, to the stage to share her successful experience with a Humanitarian Circle–like meeting she had recently held. By the end, everyone was excited to try this new program out for themselves, and many distributors signed up to have Laurie and Carly travel to their home and present an initial Humanitarian Circle.
After the Humanitarian Circle presentations, Trivani moved into a business tools segment of the event. Allen Davis, Trivani General Counsel, shared information on the progress of upcoming Trivani markets, revealing that Japan was scheduled for pre-launch in early July and that Europe and Mexico are well on their way to launch as well. Paul Jensen, Trivani Director of Creative Services, then took the stage, addressing several great ways that distributors could maximize their online Trivani resources.
Saturday Evening: Prosperity and Farewell After a short break, employees and distributors returned to their seats one final time to end the evening on Prosperity. Kelsey Thompson, a leading Trivani Guardian, gave a fantastic presentation on how to become fully invested in the Trivani cause and how to make the most of your time as a Trivani distributor. Kelsey was followed by Art Chester, Trivani Head of Corporate Training, who spent the final hour of the evening discussing how Trivani distributors can best reach their goals in their businesses. He encouraged distributors to contact him for a coaching session, in which Art and the distributor can determine goals and make a reasonable plan for how to reach them.
All three Prosperity presentations were enlightening and motivational and left all of us with a desire to return home and get to work. At the close of the event, most distributors packed up and headed back to the airport to catch a flight home. Some stayed a few days more to enjoy the refreshing mountain air of Park City.
Over the several weeks following Summit, Trivani has received very positive feedback from distributors regarding the success of the event. Many have expressed their enthusiasm for Suvan and InstaLast as well as the new Humanitarian Circle program that launched in July 1. Many have also commented on the refreshing structure of the Summit, stating how nice it was to have an event that was focused more on Purpose and Health than Prosperity.
If you enjoyed Leadership Summit, just wait until Grand Launch. It will be an event to remember, and we hope to see everyone there!
